Tucker is a confident 6 year old black and tan male. He came to our group as an owner surrender when is family had to move and could no longer keep him. In his previous life he lived with cats and smaller dogs.
Tucker is well trained and knows all of his basic commands and has nice house manners. He has not yet taken to the doggie door but he is housebroken and will let you know if he needs to go out. He can sleep free or in a crate overnight. He walks well on a leash but needs occasional corrections or reminders that his human is in charge of the walk, not him.
Tucker has been known to be mouthy and pushy, especially when excited. He responds well to corrections and is learning nibbling on his human is not appropriate behavior. He often picks up the leash to put it in his mouth when it is first added to his collar but with a correction and reminder he will drop it. Tucker loves to play catch with a frisbee, ball, or a stick but he likely has played tug of war in his previous life because he doesn't always like to drop it for the next throw.
Tucker needs a household that will set boundaries and maintain authority to ensure that he doesn't try to run his household. With proper structure and boundaries this boy can be a fantastic companion.
