AdaleneAdalene Head

Adalene is a beautiful female with a lush thick coat of mostly black with brown undertones and legs. She was an unclaimed stray from a Sacramento shelter, so nothing is known of her background.

To call this girl a stunner would be an understatement! She has the most loving amber eyes, and soft fuzzy ears that make everyone who meets her want to hug her (which she does not seem to mind). She is on the smaller size, with shorter haunches and narrow hips but is proportionate. She is the perfect size for someone who wants a real GSD in a more compact package. Based on her physical condition, and general demeanor, we estimate her to be approximately 3 years old.

Adalene is an extremely playful little gal. She gets a long great with everyone in her foster home, both canine and human. She has a lot of drive and can sometimes be a little bossy, even to her alpha pack mates. Adalene appears to be fully housebroken, and has not had any accidents in her foster home. She sleeps comfortably in a crate, although sometimes it takes her a while to settle. She appears to have had no formal training, and is not particularly interested in treats, but is highly praise motivated, and really wants to please. She's already learned to sit and is starting to get other basic commands, but has a lot to learn still. She is a good walker, and corrects on leash very easily when she wanders. She has a soft mouth, and absolutely LOVES chew toys such as Nylabones, but is equally happy engaging with a pack mate in a tug of war or chasing a plastic ball around the house.

Adalene has gotten along well playing with both large dogs in her foster home, and has really made a BFF with another foster dog that she plays with incessantly. So if your considering this girl, you should plan to be very interactive in playing with her. Having another dog in your household already would be a plus. Adalene has shown a little too much interest in the resident indoor cat, so she would probably be better in a home with no other smaller animals around. She does like almost everyone she meets, including small children, so she would do well in a variety of family settings.

Adalene rides well in the car, but prefers to lie down in the back seat rather than hang out the window. She enjoys being outside with her pack, whether on a walk, or just chillin' in the yard. But most of the time she'd rather play!

Adalene would do well in a home with another dog, but would also be okay in a single dog home. With her sweet disposition and playful nature, Adalene would be happy to be with an active family that will take her places and play with her frequently. Wherever she finds her forever home, this loving and very bright girl will no doubt flourish upon completing a full course of puppy level obedience training with her new owners.

No cats or small furry critters for this stunning gal!
