Aldan

Aldan is a tall 6-7 year old white male. He was an unclaimed stray at the Modesto shelter, so not much is known of his background.

He is a sweet boy that leans on you for hugs and loves to be brushed. He has a low energy level and gets along with other dogs and with cats. He is housebroken and has great house manners.

Aldan is a special needs boy. He has EPI, a disease where his pancreas is not able to process proteins or fat. He has a supplement that he takes before he eats to help overcome this, which cost about $40 - $60 a month. Because of his past lack of nutrition, his back legs are weak and he has difficulty getting in a car and getting up from a laying down position. He is on Rimadyl, and frequent walks will help rebuild those muscles. He is very underweight, but is putting on weight with the supplements.

He can be a bit grumpy at times. When he first came to us he would growl and snap at other dogs if they bumped into him. He has learned that is inappropriate, and now gives a mutter and moves. He is also fearful about having his feet and tail touched. Because of this, he needs a home with children over 10 years old.

Aldan is a great pet and walking partner for someone willing to invest just a little extra care.
