BearingerBearinger Head

Bearinger is an approximately 18 month old black and tan male who weighs around 75 lbs. He was surrendered to us when his owners had a baby and no longer had the time to spend with him.

Based on his sweet demeanor and beautiful, healthy coat, Bearinger ('Bear') was obviously loved and well cared for but seems to have limited exposure to new situations and other dogs. With proper introduction he does well with other large dogs. He has not been tested with small dogs. His foster home has a 4yr old male GSD and two adolescent females and he is adjusting well to being part of a pack. He is a pretty laid back boy, but his playful and his energetic side are starting to show, so we think he would really enjoy being part of his new family's activities.

He appears to be housetrained with use of a doggie door in his foster home. He sleeps on a dog bed next to his foster mom, but would sleep quietly in a crate as well. He has excellent house manners and is good on a leash (although barks at other dogs) but will benefit from continued socialization and training. He is good in the car and waits patiently for his food. His previous owners say he was OK with cats, but he hasn't taken to the cat in his foster home yet, so caution must be taken.

Further training, exercise and socialization are needed to assure Bearinger becomes the dog he is meant to be - man's best friend.

This is a Level 2 Dog
