Becker

Becker is a classic black and tan male around 1 year old. He was an unclaimed stray out of the Modesto area. Although he is on the small size for a male GSD, he has the confidence, heart, and bark of a much larger dog. This boy has a motor that never quits. If he is awake, he wants to play. He is very alert, wants to please, and is eager to learn.

He knows basic commands, Sit-Down-Stay. He is housebroken and has excellent house manners. He is crate-trained and does okay on the leash. If left unattended, he will entertain himself, usually by chewing something up or raiding trash cans. Keep plenty of chew toys around for this boy. Although he is always busy, when its "quiet time," he becomes a cuddly lap dog.

Becker has gotten along with all the dogs, male and female he has met so far in his foster home. He likes to play rough and loud. He is very interested in the resident cat, but his prey drive is not over the top. He would probably be better off without a cat in his new home. He is very alert and is a good alarm barker. He does need someone to reinforce when it is time to stop and relax. It is unknown how he is with kids at this time.

Becker's ideal forever home will be be with an active family with strong leadership because, although eager to please, this boy has the confidence to take over a household that doesn't set and maintain his boundaries. He should probably have another dog of equal size or larger around that is tolerant of constant harassment. This little lover boy will be a great addition to the right home.

This is a Level 3 Dog. Please be sure you understand what this Level of dog requires.
