CherryCherry Head

Cherry is a 10 year old big girl with a lot of love to give. She's an owner surrender after her family's home burned down and they moved into an apartment. Her canine housemate, Chase, also came into our program at that time.

We were told that Cherry is a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix and her head and gray muzzle certainly show the Golden Retriever side of her. Her demeanor is also much like a "Golden Oldie." Cherry is kid and cat friendly, and weighs roughly 110 lbs. She came to us with a plush coat in black and rust, but had to be trimmed down to remove some long neglected matting. She is housebroken, but not crate trained and likes to ride in the car.

Because of Cherry's current weight, she doesn't have much energy. It is important to continue her on a diet to get about 30 lbs off her. She should begin to display more energy and have an easier time moving around when she is at a proper weight.

Currently in a foster home with three German Shepherds and several cats, she shows no food aggression or interest in bothering or playing with either the dogs or cats in the house. She would do well as a house princess, but will need someone willing to work on increasing her walks to a tolerable level.

This is a Level 2 Dog
