DarbyDarby Head

Darby is an adorable little girl, weighing in at only about 55 pounds. She will probably only mature to around 60 or 65 lbs. Darby was an unclaimed stray out of the Sacramento area, so nothing is known about her background. She is a petite German Shepherd with enough energy and personality to make up for her size! Darby is a black and tan bicolor, 9 to 10 month old little girl who is as busy as she is cute.

Darby is housebroken, and sleeps quietly in a crate at night. She is very eager to learn but is a little dramatic at first when she doesn't get her way. She is in need of a home that is willing to invest the time and energy in completing her training.

Darby gets along with all the large dogs she's met, but her rough-and-tumble play style might be too much for a small dog. Darby is currently in a foster home with multiple dogs, both male and female, young and mature, so she has lots of activity and play partners. She will do best in a home with another dog that is also very active and likes to play, or with a human that is home with her most of the time. Darby is overly interested in the resident outdoor cat in her foster home, but corrected very easily when she tried to nibble at him. She might be able to learn to live in a home with small furry critters, but should not be left with them unsupervised.
