DeltaDelta Head

Delta is a 2 year old girl that was adopted from the rescue as a 7-8 month old pup. She has been returned to the Rescue when her family lost their home and could no longer care for her. Delta has a striking shorter sable coat that doesn't seem to shed as much as most German Shepherds. She weighs about 65 pounds, is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and has a good recall.

Delta is a higher energy girl, and is currently being fostered on a farm where she gets to run and play with several other dogs throughout the day. Delta loves to swim, and will retrieve a floating ball or stick all day long. Ducks and geese that frequent the farm pond, don't get to relax too long as she will swim out and shoo them on their way. Delta has some prey drive, so she likely could not be trusted with cats or other small critters. She gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home, but can be a little rough playing with small dogs. She is easily corrected, but needs supervision with very small dogs.

When meeting new people, she can appear a bit shy, but warms up very quickly. In unfamiliar environments, she can be a bit nervous, but with continued socialization, and calm leadership, she adapts readily.

Delta is looking for a home with an active family with a pool, or one that takes frequent trips to the lake. Another playful, well-mannered, dog of similar size would be good for her, along with a family committed to continuing her socialization and training.
