Detrick

Detrick is a 1-year-old male who was an owner surrender, so little is known of his background. He is a handsome black and red boy weighing around 60 - 65 pounds.

Detrick is currently living in a foster home with a large male German Shepherd, but previously was in a foster home with a mix of small/large and male/female dogs, and was great with all of them.

He can be a little shy and timid at first, and in his foster home, he prefers the company of men and the older respectful teenage children. Also in the foster home are younger children, and he has not warmed up to them, so caution should be used with young children.

He is house-trained, sleeps quietly in his crate, walks well on a leash, knows the sit command, and is being introduced to other basic obedience commands.

Detrick will require a home where calm, reassuring and consistent handling are practiced, and he will need continued socialization to help him gain confidence out in the world.

Detrick is unknown with small furry critters, and would do best in a home with another large, stable dog.
