Elista is a 3 month old female. She was unclaimed stray at the Merced shelter, so nothing is known of her background.
Elista has a medium energy level for a puppy. She is playful with other dogs, but when they become too rough her fierce side comes out and those puppy teeth bite hard. She may become the dominant female in the pack, so she is looking for a home with a male dog as a playmate. As much as she loves dogs, she loves being around people more. She follows her foster mom from room to room, which is a good thing since she needs constant supervision.
With proper late night food and water restriction, she sleeps through the night in her crate. For her daytime naps she prefers to cozy up to someone's feet, but can be persuaded to sleep in her crate. She is working on housebreaking, following on leash, and being respectful to cats.
Typical of this age, she is looking for a home that will expose her to lots of new people and places so she stays the fearless girl that she is now.
