George

George is a handsome, large (about 90 pounds) mostly black 3 year old male. He was an unclaimed stray from a Sacramento shelter, so nothing is known of his background.

He's quite affectionate and loves getting attention and being around his people. George is good with adults and children when he has met them out in public.

George is housebroken. His leash behavior is very good. He requires only gentle tugs to keep him in line. He will sit and lay down, and is gentle when eating treats out of your hand. George hasn't shown any prey drive towards other large dogs. When out and about at pet-friendly stores including Home Depot and Lowes his behavior is excellent. George gets excited about meeting other dogs, but is not aggressive. Care needs to be taken around small dogs as George is a little assertive with them.

George loves car rides and rides quietly, preferring to lay down in the back seat. He will wait patiently for you while you're in a store shopping. He loves taking long walks and being outdoors. He would be an excellent dog to take jogging, running, horseback riding or hiking. He also enjoys curling up near you and taking a nap. He can also be found napping at the front door, making sure no one leaves without him.

George would like to be in a family with older children and perhaps another large dog.
