HettyHetty Head

Hetty is an adorable 2 year old sable female. She was an unclaimed stray from a Sacramento shelter, so nothing is known of her background. She had a severe ear infection at the shelter, and was not the most pleasant dog there. But now out in a foster home, with her ears being treated, Hetty is just a little love bug. She is a little reserved at first, but warms up to people quickly and is then quite affectionate. She is good with adults and has appropriately met children of all ages out in public.

Hetty is housebroken. While she does not appear to have had any formal training, she is pretty easy on leash, and she only requires gentle tugs to keep in line. She will sit and lay down, and is gentle when eating treats out of your hand.

Hetty has gotten along with both large dogs in her foster homes and has shown some interest in the outdoor resident cat, but does not seem over the top crazy for him, so may be able to live with a dog savvy cat with supervision.

Hetty rides well in the car and rides quietly, preferring to lay down in the back seat. She will wait patiently for you while you're in a store shopping. Hetty loves taking long walks and being outdoors. She would be an excellent dog to take hiking. She also enjoys curling up near you and taking a nap (her preference is to be on the sofa next to you, but she is learning that her place is on the dog bed on the floor).

Hetty would like a family that will include her in their daily activities, and continue her socialization and training.
