JebJeb Head

Jeb is a handsome two year old, black and red male with one adorable ear that flops forward. He weighs 83 lbs and is a little thin at the moment. He was an owner surrender from a Sacramento area shelter. His previous owners moved and couldn't take him along. They did teach him some basic commands, but he would benefit from a refresher course.

Jeb is in a foster home with a young female German Shepherd and two older male German Shepherds. He met them easily, but is not interested in playing with them, even though the young female is doing her best to encourage him. He has been in a room with a cat that was not moving and did fine. He's not off leash to truly test how he would do, but his mellow demeanor suggests he could learn to live with cats. He also has not been tested with small dogs or children, so caution will be needed when doing introductions with either small dogs or small children. Outside, Jeb is very quiet. He prefers the comforts of indoors and does try to bull doze his way through doors. He also tries to climb up on the couch for attention, but corrects and gets off easily.

On leash, Jeb walks very nicely with little need for corrections. Jeb loves to be brushed and pet. He will lie down to drink water if the water bowl is low. He rolls over with a smile on his face to get his belly rubbed and has shown that he can be very affectionate, but is not pushy. Jeb can do well as the only dog or with other dogs that are not looking for an active playmate. Continued socialization, exercise and training will truly benefit this great dog.
