Josie

Josie is a darling 3-4 month old puppy who was given up by her elderly owner when keeping up with a lively puppy was just too much. Josie is a gentle, sweet and affectionate cuddler, very people-oriented, who likes to give soft kisses without getting carried away with it. She is remarkably calm for her age, and prefers to hang out or take her naps snuggled against her human.

This little cutie seems very bright, and learns quickly. She is eager to please, and keeps a close eye on her person's face to see what's next or where we're going. She's in the chewing stage of puppyhood, but is so far fantastic about selecting appropriate toys to chew, leaving household items alone as long as appropriate chew toys are available. Her favorite is cow hooves. She prefers indoors over outdoors, and she is almost fully potty-trained.

She is currently learning what a leash is, that food on the table isn't for her, and to wait for the dog food bowl to reach the floor before starting in. Like most puppies, she comes well when called, but you almost never need to call her, since her favorite place is right next to you. She is learning to walk next to you, instead of under your feet.

Josie is good with other dogs, enjoys play, and is confident, but happy to go along to get along. She has a good bit of spunk too, barking at the alpha female in her foster home from the safety of her foster dad's legs. She is vocal during play, and hasn't learned that she can stay by herself yet, and like most puppies will complain if left alone. She alarm barks at strangers approaching. Josie will bark at and chase cats and will not leave the resident cat alone, so no cats for this girl.

She has been going to work with her foster parent, and is very good about resting quietly under the desk for extended periods of time, usually snuggled against his foot. Check carefully before rolling the desk chair!

Like all of our young puppies, Josie will only go to a home where someone is home all the time, or where she can go to work with her human, or where she has another dog to keep her company and play with.

This charming little girl-pup will be a wonderful lifelong best friend and closest companion to the lucky person who can provide the time together that she deserves.

NO CATS.
