KumoKumo Head

Kumo is a wonderful, 8-9 year old, solid black and very large male who was surrendered to a Sacramento area shelter when his owners could no longer afford to care for him.

He is a sweet, calm gentleman with excellent manners. His cheerful, kind eyes watch his human to monitor what's up, and he wants to be wherever his human is. He has a wag and a smile for every person he meets on his walks, and is always happy to score extra pets. However, when a stranger comes to the door, he will alarm bark briefly.

Kumo gets along very well with other dogs, easy-going and happy. While he likes to play a bit, he has a lower energy level and is not very interested in rough play with the rowdy adolescent dog at his foster home. He'd rather be sharing affection with his human, or sniffing around. Kumo has shown little interest in the resident cat at his foster home, and she is comfortable with him.

Kumo gets enthusiastic about walk time, and shows some leash training, although he is not focused on vigorous exercise. In the interest of his long-term health, this gentle giant needs to lose some weight. He is on a program of diet and increasing exercise, and is cooperating with a good attitude. Kumo's new family will need to be firmly committed to keeping this up.

His calm demeanor and easy-going disposition suggest that Kumo would probably do okay around children. He has excellent house manners. He would also do very well in a less active home, and could be counted on to rest quietly and unobtrusively if taken to work. Kumo is a turn-key pet, ready to fit right into his new forever home.
