Liberty

Liberty was left at the gates of a Sacramento area shelter, so nothing is known of her background. She is a beautiful black and tan young lady with a petite frame, about 4 years old. She is a bit underweight, but working on getting up to a healthy weight. She appears to have had multiple litters of puppies.

Liberty is a turn-key pet, ready to settle right in to a new home where she can be part of a family. She is a sweet and easy girl with very nice manners, and corrects easily. She likes to stay close to her human, even a bit underfoot, and quickly settles next to them wherever they sit. She is learning to enjoy being patted and getting tummy rubs. She is friendly when meeting new people, but prefers her own human, and is looking for someone to bond with. She has been going to work with her foster dad, and settles quietly in the office.

Fully housetrained, she also sleeps quietly in a crate at night. She stays off the furniture unless her foster dad goes outside and it is necessary to get on the sofa to see him out the window. She walks nicely on leash without pulling, sits for her dinner, and comes promptly when called. She alarm barks briefly at the doorbell, but has shown no signs of nuisance barking. She rides calmly in a car, with no motion sickness.

Liberty is getting comfortable exploring her new environment, and likes to watch, sniff and explore whatever is going on around her. She is cautious with new things that are not familiar. She enjoys chewing on tennis balls, but doesn't seem to have the concept of a game of fetch yet.

She gets along easily with other dogs. Liberty is curious about cats, and hasn't quite figured out what she thinks of them yet. When the cats in her foster home remain calm, Liberty ignores them. If they run, she will chase them. With continued training, she will probably learn to live with cats.
