LilaLila Head

Lila is a pretty 2-3 year old black and tan female. She was a stray from a Sacramento area shelter so nothing is known of her background. She came out of the shelter with a bit of demodectic mange (non-contagious), which caused a little hair loss. She has been getting special baths and medication and is getting looking and feeling much better.

Lila is doing well in her foster home. She sleeps quietly in crate, is housebroken, easy on leash, knows some basic commands such as sit and down. Lila is animated and playful around the house and in the yard, friendly to all family members, including three respectful children. With the exception of moving her foster mom's shoes to curl up with in her crate, she is respectful of personal property and easy on the yard. Lila is very curious and likes to investigate her surroundings. It seems as if she may enjoy a more stimulating environment, where she can be part of the action. Lila enjoys walking, running and wading in the river. She chases squirrels at the park. A house with cats probably won't work for this gal and small dogs are unknown.

At a recent play date with another group of dog, Lila proved to be a little pushy with the other dogs after a bit, wanting all of the attention from the human in the room. She can probably learn to get along with another male dog, but a careful watch is always warranted when a dog is new to a home. Lila was extremely friendly to all people she met so far. With continued training and socialization, Lila will make her adopter's home complete.

No cats.
