MaggieMaggie Head

SENIOR

Maggie is a lovely female German Shepherd who is a VERY young 9 years old. She has a stunning gold and white colored coat, which is extremely soft, and weighs about 62 pounds. Her previous owner surrendered her to rescue when she became ill and could no longer care for her.

Maggie has easily blended into her foster home's pack, and lives with three large German Shepherds and two medium sized dogs that are a mix of ages and sexes. She has acted appropriately with all dogs - small and large - that she has met and could possibly be ok living with cats.

She is a smart girl with medium energy, who has amazing house manners. She knows how to use a dog door, is crate trained, and has earned the right to roam freely in the house with her foster pack. She has a good alarm bark, and will definitely let you know when someone is walking by your house or comes into your yard.

Maggie is very sweet, although takes her a few minutes to warm up to new people, and will require a proper introduction to new people entering her house. She is very attentive to her foster dad, but is not overly affectionate and does not like to snuggle. However, she will come to you asking for pets, by nosing your arm or hand.

Her previous owner had invested in extensive obedience training, and even though she is a senior, she should go to a home that would continue to work with her. She walks nicely on a loose leash, in the heel position, and really seems to enjoy going through the commands: touch, look, sit, down, place and stay.

She is a senior dog, but for now requires a one to two mile walk per day to keep her happy!

She will be a loyal and attentive companion to the lucky person or family that adopts her.

This is a Level 3 Dog. Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires.
