Onyx

Onyx is a 1 - 2 year old Black & Tan male German Shepherd. He was an unclaimed stray from the Modesto Shelter, so little is known about his background. He weighs around 75 lbs, but is a little on the skinny side and could stand to gain a few lbs.

Onyx is a very calm boy for his age. He is scared of everything at first. He knows basic commands and has learned to get in and out of a car easily. He prefers to stay at home and play with his foster brother more than anything. He loves other dogs and to be with his person.

It takes very little correction to get him to comply. Harsh corrections makes him flop on the ground, cry, and pee. He appears to have been kept outside all the time in his previous life because he is still learning house rules.

He's is great with kids and small dogs (please be reminded that children should be supervised when around dogs). He has some prey drive but he can be called back very easily. All in all he's a lover boy with a fun disposition.

Onyx will need an experienced handler who know how to build confidence in a timid dog.
