Patriot

Patriot is a gorgeous black and red, 2 year old male. He was an unclaimed stray from the Sacramento area, so nothing is known about his background. At a lean, compact 65 lbs, this boy is active and athletic outside, but settles in nicely in the house.

Although he doesn't seem to have any formal training, he is a mild-mannered guy that wants to help out around the house. If you are making something in the kitchen, he is more than happy to put his front feet up on the counter to check out what's going on; if you are putting make-up on in the bathroom, he will stand beside you and look at himself in the mirror. In the car, he likes to ride shotgun. He apparently was also allowed on the furniture in his prior life, so he thinks nothing of trying to settle down next to you on the sofa. He is quickly learning that while some of these behaviors are kind of cute at first, they are not acceptable.

Patriot has gotten along with the male and female dogs in his foster home and with all the people he has met so far (although men in a uniform, seem to make him a little nervous). He loves to play fetch, although sometimes forgets to bring his toy back to you. Patriot sleeps quietly in his crate all night, and appears to be housebroken. He walks fairly nicely on leash.

This handsome boy needs a family that will be dedicated to continued socialization and obedience training so he can become the best dog possible.
