Regent

Regent is a happy and energetic 2 year old male dog. He was an unclaimed stray from a Sacramento shelter so nothing is known of his background. Weighing in at about 75 pounds, this tall boy needs to gain another 10 pounds.

He is currently working on his house and leash manners and learning basic commands. Regent does well when walking on a short leash, but if given more space he still pulls, especially when he's excited about meeting a new friend. He is mostly house trained and has done well when supervised inside and given regular opportunities to go outside. He settles into a crate at night for sleeping and has also done well when allowed to sleep out on a dog bed in the bedroom.

Regent is an active and social boy who loves to be with his people. He has been known to jump a 6 foot fence in search of his people when left unattended in the yard. He appears to have been well socialized as he gets along well with all the large dogs and people he has met. It is unknown how he will do with small dogs or cats. Regent loves to play ball/fetch and has been know to pick up large rocks and even a brick in hopes of getting you to play with him. He would do well as an only dog or with another large friend to play with and work out some of his energy.

Regent would do best in an active home where someone is home with him most of the time or left in a secured area while you are away. With continued activity and training, this boy will make a great addition to a family.
