RyanGSD Head

Ryan is a large handsome bicolor male. He is about 2 years old, he came out of the shelter at about 70 lbs, but is on the thin side and probably should weigh 80 or 85 lbs. Ryan was surrendered to a Sacramento area shelter when his owners determined they did not have any time for him. According to the information left by the owners, Ryan was kept exclusively outside/in the garage.

Ryan has decided that indoor living is for him. He likes the soft beds, after a couple nights even knows his crate, and goes right in at bedtime. He has not had any accidents in the house, but has been watched very closely. Ryan is learning to settle in a bed in living room in the evenings.

Ryan seems to know some basic commands, but is kind of a spaz on leash. When walking, he will finally settle in after a few minutes, and is learning to walk without pulling. He is also working on not jumping up. Due to his size and exuberance, Ryan should probably not go to a home with small children.

Ryan gets along with all of the male and female dogs in his foster home. He likes to play with his favorite foster mate Jodine. They could run and play for hours.

Ryan came into the shelter with a cracked canine with the root showing. While being neutered, the tooth was pulled. It doesn't seem to impact him adversely at all.

Ryan would like a home where he can be included in daily activities, as well as work on his socialization and training. He wouldn't mind a dog buddy, but would also probably be fine as an only dog.
