RyderRyder Head

Ryder is a handsome, medium-sized, 18 month old sable male, about 60 pounds. He was originally an unclaimed stray in a Modesto pound, so nothing is known of his background.

Ryder lives inside and is mostly housebroken. He is easy-going and seems to just want to hang out with his people. Ryder is a very affectionate dog and likes petting and cuddling. He really enjoys sitting down at your feet leaning up against your legs. He sleeps quietly in a crate at night. He is quiet outside and doesn't seem to chime in when the neighborhood dogs decide to bark. He is extremely friendly with people, children and other dogs so far. Ryder is tolerant of cats and has a very low prey drive.

Ryder has excellent leash behavior, naturally heeling and walking right at your side with the leash hanging loose. In public places like Home Depot and Lowes his behavior is excellent. He rides quietly in a car and waits patiently if you leave him behind to shop. He's trained to sit and lay down.

Ryder hasn't always had an easy life. He is a gentle soul that responds very well to affection and positive correction. If you raise your voice at him he will slink away  and defult into a down. He needs to be in a drama-free environment without yelling, and with people who understand how to continue to socialize and instill confidence in a young dog.
