ShastaShasta Head

Shasta is about 11 months. He and his sister, Whitney, were surrendered to the Modesto pound. He has a comical look with one floppy ear and the other missing the tip, and this fits his personality perfectly. He's a big sweetheart! He introduces himself to both people and dogs with a wagging tail. Within minutes he is rolling over for belly scratches.

This guy is a big pup. He is curious about cats and wants to chase when the cat runs, but takes correction easily. With initial supervision and training, he can be taught to live with cats successfully. He gets easily bored when left to himself. Outside he finds things to chew on or to bury, inside he likes stealing shoes and stuffed toys, so he'll need someone able to give him some supervision and training.

He's very easy-going and has a moderate energy level. He is fantastic with the 5 year old girl in his foster home. He now goes to her for hugs and pets after only a short time of getting to know her. He walks fairly well on a leash.

He's unreliable about coming when you call, and has a habit of going out doors whenever they are open. He's not being stubborn, he just hasn't had much training yet.

He's a very loving dog and will make a great family pet with continued training.

This is a Level 2 Dog
