Shira

Shira is an adorable 4 month old youngster. She was surrendered to a local area shelter when her family could not afford the vet bills for a skin infection. On antibiotics, she is healing nicely.

Shira is super shy, and it takes her a little while to warm up, so her new family will be patient while she gets used to them, and as they work to socialize her. Shira is frightened by quick movements, but recovers fairly quickly. Once she's warmed up to a person or dog she will come out of her shell and play. She currently lives with an adolescent male that just adores her and she him; they play nicely together. She is also living with an 2yr old female; they get along but Shira does not play as freely with her. She is learning a lot from the other dogs in her foster home and will bark when the big dogs bark.

Shira currently lives with cats - she hasn't quite figured out what they are - yet. With continued work, she could probably learn to live with them. Shira sleeps nicely in her crate all night and is almost house trained. Shira is eager to please, and with continued training and socialization she will make a great addition to the right family.
