WilliamWilliam Head

William is a handsome, large (about 90 pounds) mostly black 4 or 5 year old male. He was an unclaimed stray from a Modesto shelter, so nothing is known of his background. He's very attentive and affectionate and loves being around his people. William is good with adults and has appropriately met children of all ages out in public.

William is housebroken. His leash behavior is good, and he only requires gentle tugs to keep in line. He will sit and lay down, and is gentle when eating treats out of your hand. William hasn't shown any prey drive towards other dogs and respects the barrier between himself and the resident cat in his foster home. When out and about at pet-friendly stores including Home Depot and Lowes, his behavior is excellent. While first a little ambivalent about meeting new people, William is warming up quickly with a lot of socialization. William gets excited about meeting other dogs, but is not aggressive.

William loves car rides and rides quietly, preferring to lay down in the back seat. He will wait patiently for you while you're in a store shopping. He loves taking long walks and being outdoors. He would be an excellent dog to take hiking. He also enjoys curling up near you and taking a nap. To say that William loves playing with balls is probably an understatement, this boy has very high ball drive. He is very good at fetch. He never loses his ball, and would play all day if you let him.

William would like a family that will include him in their daily activities, and continue his socialization as well as work with his ball drive and turn it into something productive.

This is a Level 3 Dog. Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires.
