ZanyaZanya Head

SPECIAL NEEDS

Updated: July 2013

Zanya (pronounced like lasagne & is affectionately known as Zanya lasagne) is now about 20 months old and weighed 66 lbs in April 2013. She loves getting attention, playing, running, chewing on rawhide bones and toys, and being around people. She is good around other dogs, but can play rough, so caution should be taken with smaller dogs. She has lived in two foster homes with cats. Zanya likes to try to play with cats, but she will back off if they aren't interested or if she gets scolded. Proper introductions are always a must when a new dog is brought into a home with cats.

Zanya will need medications for the rest of her life due to her epilepsy. She takes medications (phenobarbital and potassium bromide) twice a day and they are easily added with her food. Zanya's medications can also cause some unpredictable behavior, so she should not go into a home with small children. Dogs with epilepsy can live happy full lives, which can be easily be researched online.

Zanya is housebroken, loves to ride in the car, and sleeps quietly at night, in or out of a crate. She is very smart and affectionate! She routinely will come up from behind you and put her head between your legs so she can look up at you. She listens well, knows basic commands, and walks very easily on a leash. Since she is still young, continued formal training is advised. She really wants to please her human and be loved! If someone will give her the chance, she will return the love, loyalty, and affection ten-fold to that lucky person.

This is a Level 2 Dog.
