Zappa

Zappa is a one year old, striking, male Belgian Malinois, with possibly German Shepherd mixed in, weighing 65 lbs. He came from a Sacramento area shelter as a stray, so nothing is known of his background.

He is living with a 3 year old male German Shepherd and a 1 1/2 yr old female German Shepherd and gets along well with both. He loves to play, play, play so he will do best with an equally energetic playmate and an active person/family. He attended the SPCA Doggy Dash and didn't have a problem with dogs of various sizes and in great numbers.

He appears to be housebroken and has quickly learned to use the doggy door. Once situated, he sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He is very affectionate and loves interaction with his humans, but needs to learn not to jump up when he wants hugs. Zappa currently wraps his front legs around the human to hug them. Because of this boy's energy level and need for training, he would not be suited in a home with young, small children. For such an active, young boy, he has good house manners, but is now learning that counter surfing is not okay!
